RH Name Service

How names are registered, resolved, renewed, and used.

Names

Labels use 3–18 lowercase ASCII letters, numbers, or hyphens. Hyphens cannot appear first or last. The suffix is always .rh.

Records

Each registered name is minted as a unique ERC-721 NFT named RH Name Service (symbol RHNAME). Transferring the NFT transfers control of the name. A name can resolve to one Robinhood Chain address and store public profile records. The first supported profile is X, stored under the standard text key com.twitter. Owners can update it while registration is active.

Registration

Registration has a fixed duration. Renewal extends the current expiry. A 90-day grace period protects the previous owner after expiration.

FAQ

What is a .rh name?

An onchain name registered on Robinhood Chain. It is not an ICANN or public DNS domain.

Can I open name.rh in a browser?

Not through ordinary DNS. Applications must integrate the RH Name Service resolver.

Who controls a name?

The wallet recorded as owner in the registry contract.

What happens when a name expires?

Resolution stops at expiry. The prior owner can renew during the grace period. After grace, another wallet can register it.

Does adding Robinhood Chain to a wallet enable .rh?

No. Wallets need a native naming integration. RHNS resolution works first in RH-owned apps and integrations.

Can anyone ask for my seed phrase?

No. Registration only requires wallet signatures and transactions. RH Name Service support will never request a seed phrase or private key.
